do emails take a while to be responded to?





We strive to respond to emails as quickly as possible because communication is important to us. However, during the gap period between our competitions, our team may not always be available to check emails due to full-time work commitments.



what happens if my email is in regards to entries closing or any other deadline?





Any emails concerning time-sensitive matters, such as registration or entry deadlines, will be honoured based from the date the email was sent.




Can I request a specific time or day for my competition entry?





Yes, you can!


After registering, you may email us with your preferred day or time. However, requests must be made before entries close to avoid disrupting the schedule.



Are there any restrictions on special requests?





Submitting a special request may lead to being scheduled at a time or day that aligns with the entries for a specific age level. This could affect your eligibility for major awards but will not impact general awards. We strive to accommodate all requests as awarding competitors is our staff's favourite part. However, scheduling competitors of the same age and level with different special requests can be challenging.



Can I change my mind about a special request?





You can change your special request without any issues as long as entries are still open and scheduling hasn't begun. However, please be aware that special requests might interfere with opportunities for major awards or the Starz LIVE TOP 10 Dance-Off. Once a special request is made and the final schedule is submitted to MusicUploads, no changes will be permitted under any circumstances.



How do I know if there will be a conflict with a special request?



Predicting conflicts can be challenging, as they depend on the entries received. However, here is a general guideline:


• Petite to Junior age divisions typically compete in sessions 1 and 2.

• Teen to Golden age divisions are usually scheduled in session 3.


If multiple requests align with a specific time or day, the above guide may be different based on those requests. We strive to accommodate everyone's needs, but unfortunately, it's not always possible to fulfil every request.



How does the competition run and what can i expect?





All ITC-hosted competitions run in sessions rather than sections. Competitors are judged on a point system and awarded a prize based on their given scores.


Sessions typically run for 3-4 hours and conclude with an awards ceremony where each competitor gets recognised for their achievements on stage.



Am I required to stay at the competition for the entire session?





No, you are free to leave and return for the award ceremony. However, if you do leave, make sure to be back at least 1 hour before the ceremony starts in case the competition runs ahead of schedule.



Is it mandatory to attend the award ceremony?





If you are unable to attend, please notify the competition organisers and arrange for a friend to collect your awards on your behalf during the ceremony. However you must be present for any Major/Title Awards.



Can I collect my awards before the award ceremony?





No, unfortunately collecting awards before the ceremony is not possible because scores from the judges will not have been submitted if the session is still running.



When will the schedule or running order be provided?





Once the entries close, the following steps will occur, and competitors will be contacted via email:

  1. A list of all entries (not in order) will be sent out for competitors to verify their entries are correct.
  2. A draft schedule will be emailed for competitors to check for any conflicting routines.
  3. The final schedule will be uploaded to MusicUploads database.
  4. The competition will notify you via email when it is live and ready to upload your music.


When can I upload my music to MusicUploads?





After the draft running order is sent out for review, competitors have the chance to flag any issues. Once the schedule is finalised, the competition will notify competitors to upload their music via MusicUploads.



What happens after the schedule is finalised?





The official program is created and sent to competitors, along with important details such as door opening times, competition layout, maps, and reminders.



What is and what does TITLE mean?





TITLE referred to a Major Award. The competitor/s with the highest accumulated points from the entire competition will be in the running for a Title/Major Award.



How do you enter for a TITLE?





All entries at any ITC hosted event are in the running for a TITLE award.



When will the TITLE awards be announced?





At the end of each session.



What TITLE awards are there and which age/level is eligible?





Soloist & Groups are divided by age and level. Duo/Trio/Quad are combined by age, not levels or entries, example
below:



Novice Petite Soloist

What awards do TITLE holders get?





• Title Winner/s:

What are the TOP STUDIO Awards, and how can a studio qualify?





TOP STUDIO Awards are presented to studios with the highest accumulated points from solos, duos, trios, quads, small groups, and large groups. Studios must have at least one entry in each category to qualify.



What awards can competitors receive based on scores?





  • Bronze: 50 - 65 points
  • Silver: 65 - 69.9 points
  • High Silver: 70 - 84.9 points
  • Gold: 85 - 94.9 points
  • High Gold: 95 - 99 points
  • 'Platinum: 100 points



What are the age divisions?





  • Petite (2-3 years)
  • Mini (4-6 years)
  • Primary (7-9 years)
  • Junior (10-12 years)
  • Teen (13-15 years)
  • Senior (16-18 years)
  • Open (18+ years)
  • Golden (30+ years)


What are the competition levels?





  • Novice/Beginner (1-3 years of training)
    Typically for younger or beginner-level competitors, often from recreational schools, who train 1 to 3 hours per week across 1-2 styles or sessions.

  • Intermediate (3-5 years of training)
    Suited for those training 3 to 6 hours per week, which may include multiple styles, technique classes, exams, and private sessions.

  • Advanced/Elite (6+ years of training)
    For more experienced competitors with prior competitive experience, training at an elite level for 6 to 10+ hours per week.


What is the age cut-off date for determining the age category?





The age of competitors is determined based on their age as of January 1st.​



Do competitors need to be present to claim their awards?





No, competitors may have a representative present to claim their award.​



Do competitors need to be present to claim Major Awards?





Yes, TITLE award or any other MAJOR AWARD winners must be present to claim the award or it will be passed down to the next in line.
